About Our Academy
K-Lion’s Taekwondo Academy is one of the largest and oldest Taekwondo academies in Sri Lanka which had its roots developed in the early 90s’. We have proved ourselves as the most prominent Taekwondo academy in Sri Lanka as being the only none-government funded academy to create Taekwondo athletes in the School level as well as the participants to the World championship level. As it is the dream of the K-Lion’s founder, Master Upul Fernando, we offer you the “Potential to be an international Champion”.
Founder & Instructor
Master S.A. Upul Susitha Fernando
A highly competent and enthusiastic personal trainer and Martial arts Instructor with a proven ability to help people achieve their fitness & Sports goals. Possessing a successful career record of evaluating a student’s physical fitness, understanding their needs, and then developing a practical and achievable workout routine for them to reach their targets. Possessing the necessary communication skills required to gain the trust of students and thereby lead them in the path of success. Indeed, during the previous years successfully helped and guided students to success.
Master S.A. Upul Susitha Fernando is one of the most senior Taekwondo masters in Sri Lanka. Starting his journey as a youth under the founder of Sri Lankan Taekwondo, Master Cyril Anthony & Mater Ivan Fernando in 1988, he followed traditional ITF taekwondo for almost a decade and joined the WTF movement in 1998 as a member of the Sri Lanka National Taekwondo pool under Master Ki Su Lee, Master Jae-Wong Kim, Master M.C. Jung, Master Chun Ill Park, and several other Korean masters. He has been a part of both the national level and international level Sports administration for the last Master Upul Fernando’s Taekwondo Career as a Sports administrator & a coach has been appreciated by World Taekwondo Federation, KUKKIWON, and many other international and national organizations on several occasions.
